Top interview tips

Be yourself
The interview panel is interested in getting to know you and understanding what makes you unique. Don’t hesitate to show your personality and be authentic during the interview. This is your opportunity to make a positive impression and stand out.

Take your time
It’s perfectly okay to pause and think before answering any question. If something isn’t clear or you need the question repeated or explained, just ask the panel for clarification.

Answer clearly and concisely
Aim to provide complete answers while keeping them focused. Remember, the panel is looking for examples that demonstrate how you meet the criteria outlined in the job description.

Use “I” statements
When describing your experience, focus on your own actions and contributions rather than speaking for a group. This helps the panel understand your individual role and impact.

Ask questions
At the end of the interview, you’ll have the chance to ask the panel any questions you may have about the role or organisation. This shows your interest and helps you learn more.

Keeping you informed
We will inform you of the outcome of your interview as soon as possible. If you would like feedback on your interview, please let us know and we will be happy to provide it.

Best of luck, and we look forward to the possibility of welcoming you to Children’s Health Ireland!
