The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Department of Paediatrics in CHI at Crumlin provides the following:

Undergraduate:

  • responsible for undergraduate teaching of paediatrics to students from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland

Postgraduate:

  • co-ordination of postgraduate learning.
  • research days and National Paediatric meetings

Research:

  • Undergraduate Research: Student electives and research projects
  • Postgraduate Research: Research interests include translational research in neonatal brain injury and inflammation and also paediatric sepsis and immune responses
  • MD/PhD: Several collaborative international research groups including several ongoing MD and PhD students

University College Dublin Department of Paediatrics at CHI at Crumlin is

  • Responsible for undergraduate teaching of paediatrics to students from University College Dublin, coordinated by the Director of Paediatric Education, Dr Sinead Murphy.
  • Co-ordination of postgraduate learning.
  • Supervision of postgraduate research.

The research interests are in clinical research in Paediatric Emergency Medicine under the academic leadership of Professor Ronan O’Sullivan and in translational research in Paediatric Gastroenterology under the academic leadership of Professor Billy Bourke.
