Applications are invited for the following temporary post on a Type B basis under the Consultants’ Contract 2008 (as per standard text issued by the HSE):
TEMPORARY CONSULTANT PAEDIATRIC CHEMICAL PATHOLOGIST/ CLINICAL BIOCHEMIST
This is a full-time (39 hours per week) appointment to the Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) and the initial commitment for this post is:
CHI at Temple Street 31 hours per week
CHI at Crumlin – 8 hours per week
The following qualifications shall apply to this appointment:
Professional Qualifications:
Consultant Clinical Biochemist:
(a) The possession of a PhD (in Biochemistry) of a recognised university or the FRC Path. or a qualification in clinical biochemistry equivalent to either of these
and
(b) Eight years post-graduate experience / training including five years in clinical biochemistry
Consultant Paediatric Chemical Pathologist:
(a) Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of chemical pathology
and
(b) One year certified postgraduate training in paediatric chemical pathology
Recent laboratory experience in the diagnosis of inherited metabolic disorders is highly desirable.
