Staff Nurse (Emergency Department) – Short Stay Observation Unit

Permanent (Multiple Posts & Part time hours also available)

 

As we expand and prepare for the opening of the new children’s hospital in Dublin Ireland, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Departments for enthusiastic, motivated nurses to join our Short Stay Observation Units (SSOU) across the city. The aim of the SSOU is to improve patient flow, reduce length of stay and enhance patient experience within the department. Under the remit of the Emergency Department the nursing team will manage the SSOU caring for Children with illnesses and injuries that require a short period of admission. A short stay unit is a ‘dedicated facility providing assessment, observation and treatment of an illness/ injury and can be a safe and efficient way of managing care. ED experience is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be provided. The successful candidates will need to be forward thinking and self-motivated with a desire to share their excellent nursing skills and knowledge.

Essential Criteria:

  • RCN or RGN with paediatric experience.
  • Experience in managing patient care.
  • Proven track record in continuing professional development.
  • Awareness of professional and paediatric issues

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous Emergency nursing experience
