Exciting opportunities have arisen within the Operating Theatre Department of Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street, for Staff Nurses.

The successful candidates will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team in our Operating Theatre Department. They will be mentored by senior staff alongside Clinical Educators who will help them to develop their clinical knowledge and skills in the field of Operating Theatre nursing. He /she will need to be forward thinking, have good interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, and enjoy being part of a dynamic team.

Nursing is evolving, constantly offering new opportunities for career development. We provide Plastics, General surgery, ENT and Airway surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Orthopaedic and Spinal surgery, Maxillofacial, Dental surgery, Laser, Rheumatology, Paediatric Interventional Radiology and Renal Transplant surgery and Endoscopic services to the paediatric population.

The successful candidates will have new opportunities in the Operating Theatre Department in the New Children’s Hospital.

Essential:

  • Registered Children Nurse (RCN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN)
  • Peri-operative / theatre nursing experience or paediatric experience.

Desirable:

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Perioperative Nursing
  • Awareness of professional and paediatric issues
  • Excellent and proven verbal and written communication and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to prioritise tasks and responsibilities in the quality service areas to meet hospital objectives.
