Senior Social Worker
Purpose of the Role:
The successful candidate will work in St. Clare’s Unit in the Urgent Care Centre at Connolly. The appointee will work primarily as part of the multi-disciplinary child sexual abuse assessment team. This post is based primarily with the assessment team. The MDT Assessment uses evidence based interview protocols which provides an opportunity for the child and family to provide an account of the child sexual abuse concerns. The assessment also explores impact and therapeutic need.
The therapy service offers a range of interventions that are tailored to the unique needs and circumstances of each child/family. These include individual work with children, parent support and family therapy. There will be an opportunity to provide some sessions to the therapy team if required and subject to experience. The units also offers a consultation service to other professionals with regard to child sexual abuse. The units offer training to a wide range of professionals specifically focused on their work addressing CSA.
The CSA Units will be undergoing significant changes with regard to service delivery and is actively leading out on and contributing to the national Barnahus model of service delivery.
There are many opportunities to avail of training and CPD events and this is actively encouraged.
Essential Criteria:
- National Qualification in Social Work (NQSW).
or
- The Certificate in Social Work awarded by the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work, UK.
and
- Applications must include evidence of registration with CORU
- Three years post-qualification experience.
- Have substantial experience working directly and therapeutically with children and their families.
- Have experience of conducting assessments of children and families
