Senior Psychologist

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this post is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team offering assessment and therapy within a specialist Child Sexual Abuse Service. This post will involve working across all aspects of the service, with primary focus on assessment. 

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a recognised University Degree or Diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject.

and

  • Hold a post-graduate professional qualification in Clinical/ Counselling Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland

or

  • Hold a postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children in Clinical/ Counselling Psychology, Applicants should refer to the Dept. of Health & Children regulations on the Employment of Psychologists in the Health Services, as well as, the PSI Guidelines on Post Graduate Training & Qualifications
  • Have had at least 5 years satisfactory post graduate experience in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (inclusive of time spent pursuing a recognised Post Graduate Qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology).
  • Must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability to discharge satisfactorily the duties of the office.
  • Possess a high standard of professional attainment.
  • Have substantial experience working directly with children and their families, to include both assessment and therapy
