Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) operates as a single service across the existing Dublin children’s hospitals, Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght. Also, the paediatric outpatients and urgent care centres, Connolly which opened in July 2019 and Tallaght which is due to open in 2021. CHI governs and operates local paediatric services for the Greater Dublin Area and all national paediatric specialist services, some of which are on an all-island basis.

As an integral member of the national multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will deliver a comprehensive occupational therapy service to the children and young people attending the Neuromuscular Service. This CHI service operates out of CHI at Tallaght and CHI at Temple Street and supports MDT clinics run within the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC). This role is mainly outpatient clinic-based supporting children and their families within their localities. The role comprises of close liaison with families and communicating closely with his/her counterparts in local services, to monitor and be anticipatory/ responsive to the children’s functional presentations.

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised validated qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Must be CORU registered and have CORU number stated on application
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate clinical occupational therapy experience in a relevant clinical area
  • Experience working with children and/ or adults with neurodisability including those with neuromuscular disorders
