Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

Patient Accounts Administrative Assistant – Grade IV – Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity Cover)

Candidates must meet the below criteria by closing date of the competition.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have at least two years relevant Administrative experience.
  • Must demonstrate an aptitude for computing, with good keyboard skills and the ability to learn hospital systems and supporting IT Systems.
  • Proficient in MS Advanced Excel/Word.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be capable of communicating effectively and courteously with a wide variety of departments and individuals, including Hospital Consultants, Nursing Staff, Administrative Staff and Hospital Management.
  • Ability to achieve targets and deadlines with prioritizing skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Have a high level of commitment and the capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
  • Must have a strong awareness of the need for confidentiality, discretion and a methodical approach in all matters.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in Patient Billing
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of patient billing process and legislation.
  • Have an understanding of Health Insurance Companies.
  • Experience working in a Hospital environment.
  • Ability to be flexible – completing daily core task, requested tasks as well as team project work.
  • Demonstrate an ability to prioritise work, organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated with a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative
