Purpose of the Role:

CHI is looking for a hands-on, active and experienced Integration Developer to support the ICT function in the design, development, maintenance and support of CHI Integration Engines, interfaces and supporting tools.

The Integration Developer will be responsible for the planning, design, development, testing, support and maintenance of application integration supporting both clinical and non-clinical business processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with clinical, business analysts and system administrators and external vendors to understand and provide feedback on complex functional requirements, identify gaps and technical limitations, propose solutions and workarounds and formalize solutions in technical design documents.

The successful candidate will also have good technical skills in the area of data, databases, ETL and data migrations in general. They will have strong SQL experience and skills, with a proven track record of successful data migrations and integrations.   

The successful candidate will form part of the Integration and Migration Team within the Digital Health Department at CHI where their role and skills will pivotal to the success of the CHI programme and the transition to the New Children’s Hospital

The successful candidate will need to be flexible in their role duties. CHI are engaging is an extremely large developmental and change management process as we move to the new hospital and new ways of working.

Essential Criteria:

  • A third level degree/post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as Health Information Systems, Information Technology or Interoperability plus a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a relevant and similar role. 

OR

  • 7+ years’ experience in a relevant and similar role.

Plus:

  • 2+ years’ experience in systems integration using Integration Engines such as Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Ensemble or others
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of databases, SQL scripting and stored procedures in database engines such as Oracle, MSSQL and MySQL
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of full software development lifecycles
  • Experience in software development in languages such as c#, php, JQuery and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of some or all of the following: IHE, CDA, XDS, HL7, Web Services, APIs and data integration & Interoperability
  • Demonstrated experience in providing application support and an understanding of application support methodologies including the development of documentation, policies and procedures, test scripts and scenarios
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with multiple key internal projects, operations and external technology vendor stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, solve problems, establish priorities effectively and liaison with internal and external parties to resolve issues
  • Interoperability experience required. Ability to read standard and vendor specs and perform gap analysis between inbound and outbound transactions with minimal assistance
