The Head of Internal Audit will operate under the direct authority of the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Children’s Health Ireland Board, working closely with the Audit and Risk Committee to independently evaluate the existing internal controls relating to financial and other matters by executing the agreed Annual Work Programme.

The Head of Internal Audit will be available to the executive management team for consultation to provide advice on the changing or implementation of new control and governance procedures.

The post holder will work closely with the Audit and Risk Committee and Chair, the Internal Audit staff, the external auditor (C&AG), the CHI Chief Risk Officer, the CHI Chief Executive & Chief Financial Officer, the finance teams in the respective hospital site, Children’s Health Ireland’s Executive team and the site management teams at Connolly, Temple Street, Crumlin and Tallaght.
