Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position. 

The aim of the Endocrine CNM2 is to provide optimal holistic care for a cohort of patients attending the Endocrine service, with special interest in Bone Health Service. The Endocrine CNM2 is a key member of the speciality and the nursing team with a responsibility to in-patients, those requiring ambulatory care, and will contribute to wider service delivery. The Bone Health Assessment unit is a nurse led service aimed at reducing waiting times for patients being assessed for rare bone disorders.  The CNM2 role would include planning and co-ordination multi-disciplinary specialty clinics for children with rare bone disorders (Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Achondroplasia etc) and work alongside Endocrine Consultant and Research Nurse to aid in identifying patients who may wish to partake in upcoming clinical research.  The successful candidate must have the requisite knowledge and management ability to undertake this role, with proven decision making and an interest in the development of quality initiatives in the department. 

Essential:

  • Candidates must be registered in the Children’s division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann)
  • Must have a minimum of five years post qualification experience, three of which must be recent experience within Children’s nursing.
  • Two year previous experience in the specialty or related area. 
  • A recognised post graduate qualification relevant to this post or willingness to undertake same
  • Must have experience of delivering quality improvement in a healthcare environment
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing organisational and professional change.
  • A relevant master’s degree or willingness to undertake same
  • Evidence of contribution towards education and training programmes.
  • Experience of autonomous practice.
  • Evidence of participation in audit/data collection.
  • Research or audit experience.
