CHI is seeking to recruit for the following two, new permanent posts:

Post A:  Consultant Paediatrician s.i. Neurodisability. The initial commitment for this post will be to Children’s Health Ireland at Tallaght for 20 hours per week and Enable Ireland for 19 hours per week.

The Model of Care for Paediatric Neurodisability proposes consultant paediatric delivered support for disability services at local, regional and tertiary (hospital) levels, to optimise care that can be delivered in the community and reduce hospital attendances.

The Consultant Paediatrician role at CHI at Tallaght is to provide continuity of care for children requiring hospital based spasticity and orthopaedic management, and to provide acute and outpatient care for those children with medical complexity.

The Consultant Paediatrician role in Enable Ireland is to optimise healthcare delivery at local and regional level, and facilitate pathways to hospital services where appropriate.

Post B:  Consultant Paediatrician s.i. Neurodisability.  The initial commitment for this post will be to Children’s Health Ireland at Connolly for 19.5hrs hours per week and Central Remedial Centre for 19.5 hours per week.

The new model of care will deliver on the vision of the National Model of Care for Paediatric Healthcare Services (2016), for the delivery of safe and appropriate care to children as close to home as possible so that children and young people with urgent care needs get the right advice at the right place, first time.

The role at CHI is to deliver care to children with neurodisability as close to home as possible, and build links with the local teams in CHO9.

The role at CRC is to deliver both general and specialist neurodisability services to children with disability, locally and nationally respectively.
