The Clinical Specialist Radiographer has a pivotal role in the co-ordination and management of Radiography activities within the Paediatric Radiology department at CHI Tallaght. The Clinical Specialist Radiographer will be responsible for the day-to-day service in general x-ray rooms, ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and for radiation safety. The Clinical Specialist Radiographer will deliver a quality, patient focused radiographic service in the Paediatric Radiology department in Tallaght. The clinical specialist Radiographer will work closely with the TUH Radiography Service Manager to support radiography staff in the Paediatric Radiology department and with TUH departments looking after PACS and RIS. On transfer to the CHI paediatric OPD and Urgent Care centre the Clinical Specialist Radiographer will be responsible for local CHI PACS/RIs and staffing and will work closely with the with CHI and TUH Radiography Service manager.

The post holder will work within a risk management framework to achieve HIQA Safer Better Healthcare standards. The post holder will provide professional and managerial leadership, particularly in the areas of staff development and future planning, ensuring that Radiography practices allow the achievement of both local, hospital and national objectives in the area of the Paediatric Radiology. 

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Radiography for Diagnostic Radiography or possess the Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent.
  • Be registered or be eligible for registration, on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.
  • Have not less than 6 years’ full time (or an aggregate of 6 years) post qualification clinical experience.
  • On appointment practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU once initial registration is secured.
