Purpose of the Role:
The overall purpose of the Patient Flow Lead (CNM3) is to develop a strategic vision for the department that will provide the appropriate and optimal utilisation of patient flow facilities within the organisation. Work collaboratively with patient flow teams across CHI to streamline and continue to integrate the overall patient flow service.

The Patient Flow Lead is responsible for proactively managing bed occupancy of both scheduled and unscheduled admissions thereby optimising patient flow through the hospital system.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered with, or eligible to register with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as a Registered Children’s Nurse.
  • Hold a minimum of 5 years’ post registration experience working in an acute clinical healthcare setting.
  • Previous Managerial experience.
  • Proven track record in leadership and change management.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Recognised degree in management or relevant other discipline (e.g. Healthcare Management / Leadership).
  • Evidence of on-going relevant education.
