Purpose of the Post

The post holder has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating and managing nursing activity and resources within the paediatric emergency medicine (PEM) department in CHI at Crumlin. He/she applies speciality- focused knowledge and skills to manage and lead a high-quality service for emergency patients.

 

Essential Criteria:

• Candidates must be registered in the Children’s or General division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Hold a minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial role in the acute Hospital setting.  
• Have experience in Critical care or an Emergency Department setting
• A post graduate qualification in Paediatric Emergency Nursing / critical care nursing at Higher Diploma/Degree or above

Desirable Criteria:

• Paediatric experience desirable
• MSc in Leadership / Management / Quality or a commitment to undertake a MSc
