Purpose of the Role

The role of the Emergency Department CNMII – Shift leader, is to assist the Emergency department CNMIII at operational level and to provide cover during her absence. The role involves the implementation of operational processes to the standards of best practice to optimise use of resources. The CNMII – Shift leader has a pivotal role in co-ordination and management of activity and services within the clinical area.

Essential Criteria:

  • Be registered in the division(s) of Children’s Nursing of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Hold a minimum of 5 years post registration experience, 3 of which must be in the field of Children’s Emergency Nursing.
  • Graduate Diploma in Paediatric Emergency Nursing or equivalent.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal/ leadership skills
  • Management course
