Purpose of the Role:

The overall purpose of the Patient Flow Coordinator is the appropriate and optimal utilisation of inpatient bed facilities within the organisation. He/ she is responsible for proactively managing bed occupancy of both elective and emergency admissions thereby optimising patient flow through the hospital system. This role will be a key enabler to support the operations of the Urgent Care Centre during its opening hours and referrals from the Emergency Care Unit

Essential Criteria:

  • Candidates must be registered in the Children’s division or the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience in nursing.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Degree in Nursing / Recognised Management Course or willingness to undertake same
  • Previous Relevant Management experience
