The Role of Clinical Nurse Manager I Nazareth Ward

Closing date Thursday 24th September 2020

To provide professional and managerial leadership within Nazareth Ward, encouraging staff to develop clinical expertise for the benefit of staff and users of the service. The post holder is accountable, responsible and has authority for delivering a quality service and ensuring patient safety.

  • To ensure the effective and safe management of patients and families from admission through to discharge.
  • To ensure that risk management has a high profile and incidents are adequately investigated.
  • To be responsible for a safe ward environment.
  • To develop clinical expertise to a level that facilitates the development of others.
  • To act as a role model and promote excellence in clinical practice whilst sharing expertise.
  • To collaborate with the senior ward manager (CNM II) in ensuring staff are assessed and found competent in nursing practices.
  • Responsibility for maintaining custody of controlled drugs.
  • To ensure on-going supervision of post graduate and seconded students.
