SURGICAL FLAT WARD – CLINICAL NURSE MANAGER II

Full Time Specific Purpose Contract – 39hrs/wk – 1.0 WTE

Applications are invited from experienced nurses who can provide leadership and support to the nursing team in our 12 bedded general surgical ward and DOSA unit.  The successful candidate will need to be forward thinking and self-motivated with expert clinical knowledge.  The CNM2 has a pivotal role in co-ordination and management of activity and services within the clinical area.  The main responsibilities are resource management, staffing and staff development, facilitating communication and professional/clinical leadership.

The post will give the successful candidate opportunity to use leadership skills and at the same time offer exposure to wider organisational nursing issues.  We offer professional development and support allowing you the opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Registered Children’s Nurse
  • Five years post registration experience, three of which must be in Children’s Nursing.
  • Have proven clinical and managerial ability, leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Previous managerial experience.
  • Proven track record in leadership and change management.

DESIRABLE:

  • Recognised Management Course / Degree in Nursing or willingness to undertake same
