Purpose of the Role:

The post holder will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Medical Day Unit, in collaboration with department management and the multidisciplinary team and will ensure patients are provided quality nursing care in line with national and international standards of best practice.

 

Essential Criteria:

Qualification and Experience:

  • RCN / RN Child Branch with 5 years post graduate experience or RGN with 5 years paediatric experience.               
  • Management experience
  • Commitment to obtain degree/diploma in management
  • Experience of working with a multidisciplinary team

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Specific to clinical area
  • Awareness of professional and paediatric issues
  • Handling of complaints
  • Management of clinical risk and quality issues
  • Understanding of resource management, health and safety

Personal Attributes:

  • Positive attitude to working in a small team
  • Motivated, Flexible
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Professional at all times, committed to providing excellent family centred care
