ACCREDITED FELLOWSHIPS IN PAEDIATRIC ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY AND PAEDIATRIC SPINAL DEFORMITY

 

Based in the vibrant city of Dublin, our department at Children’s Health Ireland Crumlin is the largest tertiary paediatric orthopaedic centre in Ireland.

 

The department delivers

• 25,000 out patient attendances per year

• 1,000 trauma cases per year

• 2,000 elective paediatric orthopaedic cases per year

• 500 spinal deformity cases per year

 

We have seven consultant orthopaedic surgeons, with sub-speciality clinics in:

1. Limb deformity

2. Neuromuscular disorders

3. Children’s foot and ankle

4. Hip dysplasia

5. Children’s sports injury

6. Children’s spine deformity

7. Children’s orthopaedic oncology

 

We are seeking applications for year-long fellowship positions.  The aim of the fellowships are to provide mentorship to allow trainees to transition to Consultant/Attending level competence.

 

Applicants must have graduated from a recognised orthopaedic training program and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in children’s orthopaedics.

 

We have a long-standing affiliation with the CHI Institute for Research and Innovation. Protective research time is in the weekly schedule.  Each fellow will be assisted to prepare a minimum of one manuscript for submission to a peer-reviewed journal and present at one international meeting. A research nurse is provided to support these activities.

 

Remuneration

• Salary €81,747 per annum (optional, additional on-call paid at higher rate)

• Training grant of up to €2,000 per annum plus up to €450 refund per eligible exam/course and

• 12 days paid leave plus public holidays and up to 18 days paid education leave per six months.

• Pension entitlements are included.
