Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) operates as a single service across the existing Dublin children’s hospitals, Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght. Also, the paediatric outpatients and urgent care centres, Connolly which opened in July 2019 and Tallaght which is due to open in 2021. CHI governs and operates local paediatric services for the Greater Dublin Area and all national paediatric specialist services, some of which are on an all-island basis.

The post holder will support Scheduled Care initiatives across CHI in identifying new ways of improving access to clinical services for patients on waiting lists. To work towards the reduction of wait time for CHI patients and their families in out-patients, in-patients, day cases and GI Scopes.

Essential Criteria:
Qualifications:

  •  A relevant primary qualification (minimum level 7) in a related Clinical Profession, Business, Finance, HR or other relevant discipline.

Professional Knowledge & Experience:

  •  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Operations role within a hospital environment.
  • A knowledge of Patient Flow processes within a healthcare environment.
  •  Previous experience of ICT Administrative Systems within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex data and arguments in a way that is accessible to everyone.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge and be a proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel) and Hospital ICT systems.
